Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit A, A-Kit

The Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit-A (Device 1) is the only capping kit approved by the US DOT for legally sealing a leaking chlorine cylinder for road transport.

The Emergency Kit "A" includes devices designed to stop leaks at the valve, fusible plug, and side walls of 100- and 150-pound chlorine cylinders that meet DOT 3A480 specifications. Two instruction booklets are provided to guide the application of each device.

• Device #1: Designed to contain leaks in and around the cylinder valve, color-coded red, and stored in a durable polyethylene toolbox.
• Device #2: A clamping device for sealing leaks in and around the cylinder valve fusible plug.
• Device #8: A patching device for sealing leaks in the cylinder’s side wall.

The kit also includes various hand tools, inspection seals, and additional sealing devices. All components are labeled with part numbers, color-coded red, and securely stored in a durable polyethylene toolbox.
